For some reason, the combination of Dave and my genetic materials somehow results in babies who insist upon holding their heads while they nurse. At least that's our theory because this certainly isn't learned behavior. Even though Alex (in the first photo) was completely bald for almost a year, his head-touching turned itself into a rampant hair fetish and now he can't even fall asleep without a lock of hair in his hand.
Recently, we've noticed Genoa doing the same thing and I have to say it melts my heart into sweet, babylicious goo. Dave and I are curious, do other babies assume this position?
While we're on the subject, I can't say enough about how APPALLED I am by the response to the cover of Baby Talk magazine. I couldn't agree more with Yvonne in that I have zero tolerance for women with this kind of attitude about breast feeding. This is a magazine for MOTHERS WITH YOUNG BABIES. How could anyone who subscribes to that magazine be offended at the sight of a (perfectly lovely) breast being suckled by a baby? I just don't get it.
