Well, it's a good thing I bought gap insurance for my loan because my car was totaled tonight. The kids and I were on our way home from the movies and I stopped at a stop sign about a mile from the house. Some lady slammed into me at about 30 miles an hour. We're all okay except for some whiplash, which is already getting worse by the hour. I got to talk my daughter through her first panic attack. She said her head felt funny so I had an ambulance come out, but we all thought she was fine, just scared. Alex is just in shock. I'm still too shocked to be angry or sad yet, but I'm sure those feels are coming. The frustrating thing is that I'm pretty sure the lady who hit me was drunk. She was so anxious to leave the scene that she took off with a crooked wheel and no headlights. Since she took off before the police got there but after giving me her information, she's probably getting away with it.
What kind of karmic irony is this anyway? When a drunk driver totals the car you bought to celebrate your sobriety.
