GRAVY

  • My first novel started with a mole. Yes, a MOLE - a freckle, a birthmark, whatever you want to call it.
  • I was at the pool with my daughter getting ignored by our swim instructor when a lifeguard with a particularly ripped abdomen walked by. He stopped to flirt with one of the female lifeguards and my eyes flew directly to an adorable mole on the top can of his six-pack.
  • "How cute!" I thought (among other things). "He looks like a character in a romance novel!"
  • So I went home and started writing fiction for the first time. That was over a year ago and I still haven't been able to stop. GRAVY is the story of a suburban housewife who wants another baby, but gets a man with a mole instead.
  • GRAVY is now available on Kindle and Nook!

Have you seen this commercial? It seems like the college crowd humor but I laugh every.single.time.

"I'm good!"

I seem to be one of the only people who find Anchorman to be absolutely hilarious and that's after many, many viewings.

I've also recently snored coke out of my nose watching Modern Family.

Sally

I adore Phineas and Ferb. It ALWAYS makes us laugh. We actually record the new episodes and watch them before the kids do.

I find a lot of things funny and really like comedies. I don't mind broad comedy like slapstick and naughty jokes. I also love dry, sly, sarcastic insider snark where the comedy elicits more of a snort and a little grin than a guffaw. I also like silly, nonsense humor.

The one think I cannot handle is comedy that makes me feel embarassed for someone doing something cringe-worthy. I'm not offended by it. I just feel too embarassed to laugh. So that means movies like Superbad and Borat are too painful for me to watch. Not everything crosses that embarassment line for me though. I loved both Something About Mary and The Hangover, but absolutely cannot stand to watch The Office.

So here are my favorite humorous movies to add to your list...Office Space, Van Wilder, anything by Monty Python, What About Bob, Joe Vs. The Volcano, Fletch, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Jeeves and Wooster

Mrs Chaos

You had me at Phineas and Ferb.

And also The Hangover. I still can't believe how hard I laughed at that movie.

Grandma's Boy...Forgetting Sarah Marshall...and this absolutely ridiculous new series on Spike called Blue Mountain State. LOL stupid. :)

alison

I agree with Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I also laugh out loud at Vacation and Christmas Vacation (even though I've seen them too many times), Elf ("Santa! I know him!"), Anchorman, and Old School.

I disagree about The Office. That show is hysterical.

If you're not offended by crude humor (often aimed at women), try Dane Cook. Just make sure the kids are nowhere around. (Plus, he's kind of cute.)

Laurie

Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail. "You English pig-dog!" and "I fart in your general direction! Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!"

I bust a gut every time I watch that movie!

If it makes you feel better I spent twenty minutes laughing mass ass off while playing with the Atomic Fart app for iPhone. It's basically a bunch of computer generated fart sounds with funny names. So my sense of humor stopped when I was 5.

JMH

Usually I don't like movies like Superbad or Borat, but I LOVED the Hangover!! Laughed until I cried.

Erin (Snarke)

Wow, that was supposed to be "my ass" when I typed it but I like the typo so much better!

Cabriogal

i laugh outloud at The Middle

John D

"We are the knights that say Ni!"

And yes it's all funny.

Haley

I died laughing at The Hangover...just absolutely died!

Have you seen Slackers...it was another great "Frat Boy Humor" type movie...a little crude...but hilarious. :-)

The personal loans suppose to be essential for guys, which want to start their own organization. As a fact, that's not really hard to receive a secured loan.
