We haz none. It's not like you didn't notice!
As of right now, Pumpkin #1 is holding a strong lead, with 55% of the votes. And I have to admit that I'm impressed with you guys! Because you voted for that pumpkin IN SPITE of the fact that most of you (over 70%) thought it was the one DAVE carved. How nice and objective of you!
And how WRONG!
This is my pumpkin:
I like to think he's saying, "BITCH, WATCHOUT! I'MUNNA EEEEAT-CHOO!" He's hungry is what he is. And he has a Brooklyn accent. And no teeth.
Dave's pumpkin, on the other hand,
wants to know if you'd like to hear him sing an operetta. He's a bitty of a girly man. (The pumpkin, not the creator).
Anyway, more effort next year, I promise!
As for the kids, they had a great time trick or treating. Genoa really got it this year and marched her little pony feet up to front door after front door, happily exclaiming TRICK OR TREAT and then gleefully and genuinely saying thank you every time. She's a keeper. Alex, now a veteran, was super excited about all the candy (that we mostly won't let him eat) and he already can't wait for next year.
Personally, I found the entire endeavor EXHAUSTING. Seriously. I saw a couple of our neighbors in the streets with red cups full of adult beverages and next year, honestly, that'll be MY little orange pumpkin filled with energy-giving sustinance.

You know what you would have LOVED?
We ate dinner at Bridgeport Village last night and the wine bar we had a drink at before dinner was giving candy to the kids and jello shots to the mommies.

Hey, you have to admit the weather was fabulous. It was the first time in years that I could see the princesses and firemen costumes instead of bulky coats and umbrellas.

The kids look great. That's awesome that Genoa got it this year. Cate was totally baffled (and a little freaked out) by the whole thing.
This is our first Halloween in this neighborhood, and apparently it's common for houses to give out "treats" to the parents in the form of cocktails in plastic cups. We are SO doing that next year, I can't wait.

Why let your kids trick or treat if you won't even let them have some of the candy? Just seems strange to me...

Hey there! Are you sure you had no jello shots BEFORE the pumpkin carving?! Kids look great.

I carved my pumpkin in 360-style this year, and um...it was less than awesome. Thankfully I have friends and family who toot my pumpkin carving horn. ; )

Genoa's costume is great. I would have loved that when I was little.
