Tomorrow is our big day, which means today I'm busying myself pretending to be Martha Stewart. The weather has improved greatly and both kids are currently playing on the patio, Alex in flip flops and a tank top, Genoa in a strawberry shirt, her brother's jack-o-lantern slippers and nothing else. We're expecting the gardener any minute and my to do list is long, but full of things I enjoy doing.
On the menu for tomorrow:
BBQ'd terriyaki flank steak
BBQ'd hot dogs for the kids (we like the TJ's ones that are all natural)
Homemade potato salad
Pesto pasta salad
Fruit Salad
Veggie tray
Chips and dip (my friend Tana is bringing her famous bean dip)
Beer
Cocktails
Juice
My menu seems short on veggies, but I've noticed that people don't go to a party to eat healthy! At our Christmas party, no one even TOUCHED the broccoli salad OR the caesar salad, so this time I'm not going to bother. The chips ALWAYS get eaten!
I'll try to yank my camera out as much as I can today while I'm cooking!

Ooooh, sounds fun! And, potato salad, YUM! Can't wait to see pictures!

We had the kids' birthday party last weekend and had almost 80 people. Afterwards my mom and I made a list of what food we bought/made and also wrote down how much we used and didn't use. Note for next year: most kids eat hotdogs WITHOUT buns!
