1. Even more vomit.
2. Realizing that Alex is not better. At all.
3. Realizing that Genoa did not catch what ails her from Alex. Being at the doctor's office on Monday at noon + 24-48 hours incubation = barf-o-rama time. Alex still has no GI symptoms, so it can't be the same virus.
4. Having to carry my 40 pound be-jammied boy from the car to the doctor's office while simultaneous catching his sister's barf in a towel.
5. Noticing that Alex's head seems to be quivering against the back of the waiting room chair and yet he claims he's not cold or shivering. Oh yeah, that's right. Tiny little febrile seizures!
6. Getting a temperature reading of 105 from our ear thermometer.
7. Begging the doctor's assistant to recheck his initial temperature read of 101.1 because it just can't be right.
8. Getting an official temp of 103.9.
9. Freaking out a little when describing his symptoms, etc, to the doctor. Trying all the while not to sound like some over-zealous googler.
10. Holding my screaming boy down while his blood gets drawn.
11. Getting barfed on, again, while waiting for Alex's chest x-ray.
12. Realizing that every small towel in our home is contaminated in some way or another by whatever Genoa has going on in her gut.
13. Hand-scraping the chunky leftover pieces of vomit out of the washing machine.
14. Realizing that depending on what the blood test results say, #13 might end up being the highlight of my day.

I have two words for you: vomit bowl.
Whenever my kids are sick, they keep a big bowl next to them (sometimes even sleep with it next to their pillow) to catch the vomit. It started when they were too little to make it to the toilet, and it's just been a fixture in our house ever since. And it seems like my kids vomit much more than anyone else...but maybe that's just my perception.
Hope your kids are better soon!

Oh man, what a day! I would tell you not to freak out but I know that never makes me feel better. Hang in there though.
I am hoping both your kids get better soon!

We just went through six days of vomit/diarrhea hell with my 2 1/2 year old and I thought it couldn't get any worse. Reading your post reminded me that it can. I'm so sorry.
Not sure if this helps at all but our ped recommended something called Florastor for Kids to stop the diarrhea (not sure if that's where Genoa's illness is headed but I suppose it's the next possible step). It's over-the-counter but you have to get it from the pharmacist. They keep it behind the counter. It can be hard to get (I had to go to three pharmacies in our city before I found one had a sample and then they had to special order a pack for us). The stuff worked wonders and the diarrhea quit in less than 12 hours. I'm a total Florastor convert.
I hope things improve GREATLY soon.

I second the idea of a barf bowl. However, if it hits in the middle of the night, like it usually does at our house, I just grab a plastic tub out of the toy bin and use that!
All four of us had it last month and it was awful! We had it coming out both ends. We had attended a birthday party for a friend's two year old daughter, and 27 out of the 29 people attending got it!
I'm sure you've heard of the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. Good luck!

Oh man, all I can say is, I'm sorry!

Hi, I don't usually comment, but I wanted to tell you that we've dealt with these "mysterious" fevers a lot and have done lots of research on the issue. Do you know if they've been coming in regular intervals? Are there any other symptoms? Feel free to contact me if you'd like to discuss further! Good luck!

oh no. Hang in there, I hope it passes very soon. And I really hope you get good news about Alex. :(

Hope things get better from here. Ditto the probiotics-- even break open acidophilus and sprinkle on a tbsp of applesauce or w/ a little expressed milk. We use baby jarrowdophilus from Whole foods (in the produce refridge case)

Oh, Amanda. I am so sorry!

Oh, you poor mommy! And your poor babies! I feel bad that Rae was probably contagious at the party. Not me even though I had that fit. But it's just been a cough alone for us, so that doesn't sound like either one to me. I hope all of you are doing a hundred percent better in the morning.

Wow, Amanda, that sucks most powerfully. I'll be thinking of you, and keeping fingers crossed for it to all be better soon.

Oh dear, that sucks big time. I wrote a very similar post just last week.
Here's hoping everyone's better soon!

I hope everything gets better soon. You must be miserable and exhausted and worried sick.

Oh goodness! I really hope that miss G. stops the barfing soon and that whatever it is that's ailing Alex is something that his immune system is just kicking butt on and that's why he's got the high fever. I've been thinking about him, I'm glad you were able to get some tests and hopefully you'll get some answers (positive answers!) and he'll be good as new in no time.
You're in my prayers!

I don't even know what to say...I'm so sorry that you and your family are going through this. There's nothing I can say to make anything better, but know that you are in our thoughts.

Oh, Amanda. My stomach got a little sick reading this post. It was the 105 on the ear thermometer.
I hope Genoa is better SOON! And I am sending many, many positive thoughts to you and Alex. Please post soon - I'll be thinking about you non-stop!

Oh, I am so sorry! One sick kiddo is bad, but TWO?! That is seriously stinky.
I second all the good thoughts here and will be thinking about you.

I had a desire to make my business, but I did not have got enough of cash to do it. Thank God my close fellow advised to take the loans. Thus I used the student loan and made real my old dream.
