GRAVY

  • My first novel started with a mole. Yes, a MOLE - a freckle, a birthmark, whatever you want to call it.
  • I was at the pool with my daughter getting ignored by our swim instructor when a lifeguard with a particularly ripped abdomen walked by. He stopped to flirt with one of the female lifeguards and my eyes flew directly to an adorable mole on the top can of his six-pack.
  • "How cute!" I thought (among other things). "He looks like a character in a romance novel!"
  • So I went home and started writing fiction for the first time. That was over a year ago and I still haven't been able to stop. GRAVY is the story of a suburban housewife who wants another baby, but gets a man with a mole instead.
  • GRAVY is now available on Kindle and Nook!

Family Superhero night sounds like tons of fun! I absolutely need to see pictures of that.

I keep watching ER too, and I don't even know why because I find myself totally bored by basically every character on the show. Goran Visnjic is the only one worth watching, and that's only because he is so. damn. hot.

Did you hear that (in real life) a Croatian woman slapped a paternity suit against him? I tell ya, it's not worth it to marry someone that hot. It'll only lead to heartache.

Dawn

I love Kate Walsh - but that show sucks for so many reasons - yet I keep watching for few minutes f decent each week.

Rachel

Ugh... yes I've watched both this season. Private Practice just doesn't keep my attention that much and ER makes me want to throw the tv out the window.

Has anyone else ever realized that there is a curse on that show? Anytime a character on the show that has a child something horrible happens (to them, their family or the child)
- the head of the hospital's son died of cancer way back when
-Benton's son was deaf and the child's mother died in a car crash
-Dr. Green's baby is poisioned and then he dies of a brain tumor
-Dr. Carter's baby is stillborn
-Dr. Weaver's partner dies in a fire and her family tries to take the baby away
-Sam has to kill her son's father when he kidnaps them
John Stamos's character loses his longtime girlfriend and has to take care of her daughter
-and NOW Abby's life is falling apart!!!

This show is seriously getting ridiculous. It's almost predictable now that anytime a character has a child, it's their downfall.

I started to put P.Practice on our TiVo list, but then rewatched the G.Anatomy episode that introduced it, and I could not do it. Basically for the reasons you stated. Guess I'm not missing anything.

I've also been watching ER, mostly out of habit since I've watched it since day 1. My husband refuses to watch it with me anymore. Now, Rachel's comments are giving me pause.

Add a writer's strike. Argh!

Most doctors apparently need to see 10 patients an hour given the amount of time we all spend waiting for them to play catch up.

I think ER started its downhill slide after Hathaway left and it hit bottom when Green died. I quit watching after that. Someone should pull the plug and put it out of its misery.
