I spent all morning paying bills while Genoa took a much needed nap. Then we made cream of mushroom soup together and threw it in the crock pot with some chicken before leaving to get Alex at school.
Today was the first parent-teacher conference and while I didn't learn anything I didn't already know, it was nice to hear how well he's adjusting and that the other kids in his class like him. I asked what his teacher thought about him starting in Kindergarten next year and she basically said that since it's Montessori, he'll do Kindergarten whenever he's ready, not when the calendar says he should. She'll be able to give me a definitive answer closer to the end of the year after she's seen how much progress he makes. She also said he's doing well learning his sounds (letters, etc) and that he can join the "literacy group" whenever he wants to, even before he starts reading on his own. All good stuff.
Today I was super productive. Not only did I pay the bills and get dinner made before noon, but after the school conference, I dropped off some paperwork to our insurance agent, made a deposit and even went and ordered a new file cabinet at Office Max. Tomorrow I'm expecting that delivery so I can hopefully start getting the office more organized.
Sorry. Some days these NaBloPoMo posts are totally uninspired...

That's the beauty of NaBloPoMo, it forces you to share. I don't sign up for the writing, I sign up to read that Alex is doing well in school and Genoa's new BFF is a tuber.

I love days when I get lots of stuff done!
My husband went to a Montessori. My father-in-law claims that is part of the reason he is so smart and did so well in school.

I love productive days too!! Sometimes a Mama's day is all about business leaving little for inspiration.
