My first novel started with a mole. Yes, a MOLE - a freckle, a birthmark, whatever you want to call it.
I was at the pool with my daughter getting ignored by our swim instructor when a lifeguard with a particularly ripped abdomen walked by. He stopped to flirt with one of the female lifeguards and my eyes flew directly to an adorable mole on the top can of his six-pack.
"How cute!" I thought (among other things). "He looks like a character in a romance novel!"
So I went home and started writing fiction for the first time. That was over a year ago and I still haven't been able to stop. GRAVY is the story of a suburban housewife who wants another baby, but gets a man with a mole instead.
Me: I really want to eat some cheese. Boy: Oh, but you can't, Honey. Cheese has milk in it!

It's amazining how they zero in on stuff like that, isn't it? John's the samw way with his dairy restriction. I let him have pizza (which he's dying for), but he wouldn't do it.
I know Genoa's still little, but if you want to try it you could make a pizza with romano and/or parmesan, because they're aged cheeses and the proteins are broken down a bit. Add a sprinkle of mozzrella. Do it at the start of her longest run of not nursing. Or you can wait. :) I used to test Ava every other Thursday at my MOPS meeting. I'd have coffee with cream and a couple deserts (though none with obvious cheese in them, like cheese danish). Many Thursday nights Bri would come out of Ava's room and say "what did you eat today?" LOL.
Start with hard cheeses and yogurt. Once she gets on solids you'll be able to "cheat" more.
Hang in there! I've been eating what I want pretty much since she turned one.
When I nannied, one of the kids called me "Honey" and I thought it was so stinkin' cute!! I remind him of that now (he's eleven and was two when I met him) and he turns bright red -- I'm sure I'll use it in a toast at his wedding some day! :)

Have you tried dairy lately? I'm now D-F for my 7 week old and it's killing me. If I could just have ice cream I'd be okay!
