GRAVY

  • My first novel started with a mole. Yes, a MOLE - a freckle, a birthmark, whatever you want to call it.
  • I was at the pool with my daughter getting ignored by our swim instructor when a lifeguard with a particularly ripped abdomen walked by. He stopped to flirt with one of the female lifeguards and my eyes flew directly to an adorable mole on the top can of his six-pack.
  • "How cute!" I thought (among other things). "He looks like a character in a romance novel!"
  • So I went home and started writing fiction for the first time. That was over a year ago and I still haven't been able to stop. GRAVY is the story of a suburban housewife who wants another baby, but gets a man with a mole instead.
  • GRAVY is now available on Kindle and Nook!

Are you a Diana Krall fan? Did you know that I once shared a flight with her and Elvis (May 2003) and were at the baggage claim together and rode the elevator up to the parking garage at SFO with them. Their limo was parked in close proximity to my turdmobile. One of my few brushes with fame.

Christmas music is jazz,eh?!Well I can honestly say that after about an hour of Christmas music it begins to drive me crazy, that is unless it's "good" Christmas music.

Meet your husband half way and get The Vince Guaraldi Trio : A Charlie Brown Christmas
This is the original music form the show. Vince did all the work for the Peanuts TV speacials.Good stuff and it has the song Linus and Lucy, to boot. You'll know the tune once you play it.
I think its one of the better Christmas CDs I have.

I used to work in a music store during my college years, whatever you do,DO NOT get any Christmas CD that uses animal sounds for music I.E. the ever popular Jingle Cats. This is where some idiot thought that Christmas music on a synthesizer where all sounds are cats meowing in different keys is wonderful. We sold TONS of these and after five minutes of hearing this,I wanted to grab the CD player and throw it through the front window display.

This will be my daughters first real Christmas, (She's one now) and though I'm sure she'll be more amused with ribbons and wrapping ,I cant wait!

Hope your little one feels better soon.

Belinda

Judging from Blogworld, the sickies are going around the toddlers of the world BIG-time.

We're all psyched about Christmas, too, since Bella is actually into it and *asking* for things (Madagascar DVD and her own TV to play her InteracTV games on--the nerve)!

I bet you get movement soon. Bella did the same thing to me, and then close to 5 months, WHAMMO with the kicking and squirming! I hope you feel well and don't succumb to the sickies!

"Boob tastes yucky. You tell me a story instead."

Ha ha! When Nathan weaned he squeezed my boob hard and announced, "Nummies broken" I guess they tasted funny after I got pregnant with Katie.

Yep. Threats. Completely empty. Xmas is super fun that way. I love Christmas music too. I looked up lyrics the other night and realized I know way too many xmas songs. I can only imagine what that's shoving out of the brain space.
